May is Mental Health Awareness Month! What is mental health? According to medlineplus.gov they define mental health as "Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act as we cope with life. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood and aging"

Why is Mental Health important?

It helps you to...

Cope with the stresses of life

Be physically healthy

Have good relationships

Make meaningful contributions to your community

Work productively

Realize your full potential

While we are inside during quarantine right now it is important to ensure that we are taking care of our mental health. If you are feeling any of the following ways please reach out for help:

Often feel very angry or very worried

Feel grief for a long time after a loss or death

Think your mind is controlled or out of control

Use alcohol or drugs

Hurt other people or destroy property

Do reckless things that could harm you or others

Feel depressed (sad and hopeless)
