How to help a friend who may be experiencing Mental Health problems.

As we are all home right now you may be concerned that your friends are struggling with a mental illness. Many of you may want to support your friends but are unsure how to do that.

Here are some tips to help support your friends or family.


1. Be there to talk to them.

Sometimes we really need a friend to talk to when we are struggling with mental illness. Maybe they are having a hard time at home and just need someone to talk to. You can be that support system for them.


2. Reach out to an adult if needed

We know that you want to be there to help and support your friends but sometimes we need to reach out to an adult to help us. It is important to reach out to an adult if you are afraid that your friend might be endanger. It is important to not be afraid that your friend may be mad at you because you are doing the right this to help them.


The YES program along with the school guidance staff is available to you if you need it.


3. Give your friends resources

There are many different resources that you can introduce your friends to if they need some advice. You may not know everything which means that
