Group Information

The YES Program offers a variety of community service opportunities for our students throughout the year. In addition to community service trips, our Community Service Group meets to participate in activities and projects that help to serve members of the community. Some past projects students have participated in include making paracord bracelets to send to Operation Gratitude, perler bead key chains with inspirational messages, holiday children activity books, cards for veterans, and much more.

Beginning high school can be both an exciting and stressful time.  The Freshman Transition Group is open to all freshman students attending their first year at Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy.

Students have a chance to meet other freshmen, share experiences, give and receive support, and develop new skills while exploring and discussing a variety of topics.  Topics discussed include stress and time-management, emotion regulation and conflict resolution, bullying, strengthening confidence and self-esteem, and developing problem-solving skills. In addition, students have the chance to meet with upper-classmen for peer mentoring and additional support.

The YES Program understands the variety of stressors students face on a daily basis. This is why we have teamed up with Project Home Power Yoga to offer after-school yoga classes to students free of charge. Students relax, unwind, and learn how to tune into themselves through yoga practice. All experience levels are welcome!
